Inês Valadares

Inês Valadares grew up in Lisbon and has written about its food for eleven years, for Portuguese newspapers and for English-language guides to the city. She writes about Lisbon the way people there eat in it: the prato do dia at a neighbourhood tasca, the bakeries that sell out by eleven, the counters that take walk-ins only.

She writes the Lisbon food guide and the Lisbon edition of City Tables, neighbourhood by neighbourhood and meal by meal.
